DeepMind alumnus David Silver raised $1.1 billion to launch a new AI startup, Ineffable Intelligence. An impressive amount will go towards solving a huge task: creating artificial intelligence that can learn without human data.

For reference: DeepMind is an AI research laboratory founded in 2010 by Demis Hassabis, Shane Legg and Mustafa Suleiman. The company became known for developing AI systems that learn independently through reinforcement learning (learning through interaction with the environment). In 2014, the company was bought by Evil Corporation for about half a billion bucks. The most famous DeepMind projects: ▫️AlphaGo is the first AI system to defeat the world champion in the game Go. ▫️Gemini is Google's modern multimodal AI model.

Such headlines can create the feeling that the topic of AI is black soil into which you stick a stool leg, and an evergreen tree bearing fruit with golden apples will grow from it. A deceptive feeling! You can put the “AI” label on any toilet, but this will not make it a work of art and will not ensure successful fundraising. For it you need to make truly DeepTech High-Tech solutions with a deep engineering and scientific base. Well, and one more small thing - to get access to the servers for the AI.

I would like to remind you that AI, which can endlessly train itself, is one of the signs of that very explosion of singularity. Just imagine: once you turn on a server with such an AI, it can work endlessly until it becomes smarter than its creators. What did the Jews say about the Golem? 🤔
